Frequently asked questions.

  • Sex Coaching is a collaborative process where you and I work together to evaluate where you are currently with regards to your sexual health and satisfaction, what internal or external blockages may be in the way of any growth you desire, and where you would like the future of your sex and relational life to go.

Then, we create an action plan centered around contextualizing your experience, providing education to fill in desired knowledge, and offering guidance to make informed decisions, in order to bring that plan to life.

  • Therapy and Coaching do share some overlap, but there are notable differences as well. Therapy has the ability to focus on past trauma, and how that may be affecting your present. Coaching focuses on the present actions you can take to toward a future goal.

Think of it like the difference between a personal trainer and a physical therapist. A personal trainer can help you evaluate fitness goals, create a plan to work toward them, and even be mindful of any injuries you may have received in the past so as to not agitate them. However, if you want to actually heal that injury, it’s best to go to a physical therapist to treat the underlying scar tissue.

A similar balance occurs between sex coaching (personal trainer) and sex therapy (physical therapist).

Both can work collaboratively to help their clients, and both are valuable resources to improve sexual health and well-being.

  • If you are suffering from severe trauma, please seek treatment from a Licensed Mental Healthcare Professional. After you have made progress, then we can resume conversations about coaching to take you from a place of pain or neutral to pleasure.

Because of the sex-negative culture in which we live, almost everybody can benefit from sex coaching.

Be prepared to keep an open mind to possibilities you may not have originally thought, and you may be surprised at what can be discovered through the coaching process.

  • It is pretty simple.

At the time of the appointment, I will call you from a private video server. After a brief check-in, we may discuss any progress made on home exercises since the last session and then can begin talking about whatever may come up.

As a Coach, I may have a loose agenda of possible topics to discuss, but that is always superseded by what you bring to a session. The Coaching process is always guided by you, the client.

Depending on what comes up, I may instruct you through an interactive exercise together, give you exercises to practice on your own, send you recommended resources to check out, or something else entirely.

At the end of a session, we will briefly recap the events of the past hour, go over home assignments, and affirm takeaways from the session.

This is a fun, interactive process, that allows progression while also enabling free flow.

  • No.

Likewise, I do not watch my clients have sex and “coach” them along the way. While coaching may involve interactive activities on your own or with me through our calls, we will not engage in that level of interactivity.

  • Regardless of your relationship status, I am happy to meet you where you are. My goal with any client, is that by the time we are done, you feel less ashamed, better informed, and capable of making intentional sexual and relational decisions that align with your values.

If you are single, all you have to do is show up. If you are in a relationship, you may do solo or couples sessions.

For those in relationshops, your partner is not required to join us, though if they are willing to participate, it can aid the coaching process. (If your partner joins the coaching process, I require that we do a Session #1 together, then one session each separately to do a full Intake/Sexual History, and then meet together again for Session #4.)

  • Sadly, I do not accept insurance. Even though I have gone through a rigorous certification process to provide you with the best information and experience possible, the unfortunate reality is that Sex Coaching is an unregulated field, does not often get covered by insurance. Even Sex Therapy is not covered by most insurance companies.

Payments are made online via an invoice before each session.
